Write a community book
Read about one school’s experiences of bringing students, teachers and the community together to write a book about the school’s history. This shared writing project - originally run in a primary school - works equally well at secondary level or with special interest groups.
The writers are involved in developing their contributions into a highly professional publication that tells the schools story through a range of community perspectives.
At its most challenging this could be a book or a website, but the project also lends itself to being adapted to a range of shorter curriculum projects focusing on local diversity or history.
