Summary
Ten Year 7 students were selected to make a short film about the transition from year 6 to year 7, working with a professional filmmaker. The project timeline entailed 4 x 2-3 hour sessions with the Year 7 group, one session a week over consecutive weeks. The group were all involved in scripting their own performances, reviewing and critiquing their work and discussing if they were communicating the right messages in the right way.
Members of the group interviewed the Headteacher and Assistant Head and many members of staff appear in the film as part of a plan to show a variety of lessons in action. The aim was to produce a film that could be taken into feeder primary schools.
