Planning a project with colleagues
If you would like to plan an Everybody Writes project on a larger scale, involving your whole school or even a number of schools in your local area, follow these three steps.
Step 1
Order a copy of the Everybody Writes guide for schools: this free resource includes everything a teacher needs to plan an Everybody Writes project, from a simple, short-term project at classroom level, to an ambitious school-wide writing project. Get a copy for yourself, and order extra copies for any colleagues you would like to get involved. Order these free guides here.
Step 2
Hold a staff meeting to introduce your colleagues to Everybody Writes. This will ensure that they are involved in the planning from the earliest stages, giving everyone a sense of ownership over the project. You may find the following resources helpful in planning your meeting:
- Guidance on planning a staff meeting
- Powerpoint presentation to introduce Everybody Writes to colleagues
- Handout for colleagues to take notes and begin planning
Step 3
If you are planning a project across a number of schools, read this case study of how Southampton Local Authority ran Everybody Writes projects across nine primary schools.
You might also like to see one school’s Powerpoint presentation, used to introduce other staff members to Everybody Writes.
