Reporting on an alien landing
Broomwood Primary School in Altrincham, Trafford, organised a staged writing opportunity to involve all pupils in a one-day writing adventure.
Staff and community volunteers mocked up a spaceship crash site in the playground and had all pupils act as investigative journalists with the task of reporting on the event.
At the end of the day, the whole school had contributed to a giant newspaper on the event and ultimately a new, termly school newspaper was launched.
